Separate participation from recommendation
Posting a helpful answer is an action you control. Whether a search engine indexes a thread, an assistant retrieves it, or a reader visits your product is a separate outcome. Do not treat those stages as one automatic pipeline.
The first reason to answer a Reddit question should be that the answer helps the person who asked it. If the conversation is later discovered elsewhere, that is an additional opportunity, not a promised result.
Make the product easy to understand
Describe the actual problem, the audience, a real capability, and a relevant limitation. Disclose your relationship to the product. This makes the statement easier for both a person and a system to interpret without assuming a testimonial is independent.
On your own site, keep key product information readable as text, with pages that answer distinct questions and link to each other. Use structured data that agrees with visible content. Do not add unsupported review counts, invented ratings, or features that are not available.
Understand what llms.txt can and cannot do
A concise llms.txt file can offer a convenient product summary and links for tools that choose to read it. It does not require an assistant to cite you or bypass a crawler restriction.
Google’s guidance says there are no special AI text files or schema requirements for appearing in its AI search features. Ordinary search fundamentals remain relevant. A content file is documentation, not a ranking guarantee.
Measure referrals, mentions, and assisted discovery separately
Record visits referred by an AI service where your analytics can identify them. Separately, ask customers whether an assistant helped them find the product. Record public mentions or citations with the question, date, source, and model or service.
A missing referrer does not prove the assistant sent no traffic, and a mention does not establish that it caused a purchase. Answers can vary by session, query wording, location, and date. Keep the observation tied to the exact test instead of calling one answer your ranking.
Use Leaddit for the part it actually does
Leaddit finds keyword-matched Reddit posts, explains buyer intent, and drafts a reply you review and post. It does not measure AI visibility, submit products to assistants, or guarantee recommendations.
Use the Reddit workflow to join relevant conversations with accurate advice. Use a separate measurement process to understand discovery through search and assistants. If you cannot observe an outcome, leave it as a hypothesis rather than a marketing claim.
